Old Rayburn solid fuel range

I just wondered if anyone had any advice regarding an old range in my mother-in-laws house. Some in the family think it should just be ripped out & a modern stove (not with oven) put in, but as the stove is at least 60 years old I think it might be better to try & get it serviced - oven needs a bit of work & general sprucing up. She does still use it for cooking, but also has a cooker. It heats the water, but not the rads, there is also oil heating. She has access to cut turf supplies so fuel for it is not a problem - anyone any opinions? We did try & find someone in the Galway region to do a service but they all seemed to be for ripping it out & removing it (at a cost of course) & supplying us with a renovated one - more modern than the one she has. It just seems a shame to me to dump it. This work would be part of a renovation of the house so maybe we could get it to heat the rads as well?
Any suggestions very welcome.
