Can anyone tell me were the oil filter is located in a 01 VW caddy and the nut for draining the oil.

Goldsoso poswt isn't very useful as to where the oil filter is.

The oil filter is on the block of the engine and the drain plug is on the sump of the engine.

Just wondering when should a car get an oil change.
Is it after so may miles or every 1 or 2 years.
I have a mate who bought a 2008 car with 11, 500 miles in Feb (8 months old) on it and now has 20,500 and the car is telling him he needs oil /filter change.

I depends on the car and engine, but generally :

• When the symbol lights on the dash
• When the mileage indicated in the service schedule booklet comes around
• Every year
• Or sooner than any of the above if the car is pulling heavy loads or operating at extreme ambient temperatures (hot or cold)
