Occupy Wall Street Protest articulates the Left's concerns

Also should be acknowledged that they have drawn inspiration from the Arab Spring protests, a very positive movement.

An interesting development, particularly the invelvement of middle class people and the unions. There was an item on C4 news about it last night. And apparently there are mini protests springing up all over the place. Hard to tell what it can achieve as it's a highly fragmented and leaderless affair.

Which is why it might well be more effective in the long run. The media and politicians can't pin it down to one group or one message, it's overall anger from a very large population. There's no one to negotiate with or strike a deal with, no one to buy off.

If they really want to focus their energies on who is really to blame on Wall st than they would be better off just heading on over to Goldman Sachs, here they will find all those responsible for not only the current world recession/Banking crisis but who were probably responsible for the 1929 crash and if allowed will rinse and repeat in the future.

I really hope this is the start of something bigger,Obama utterly bottled any hard decisions in relation to reigning in/ending this corporate thievery...I hope the American people are finally going to rise up and insist the companies like GS are punished harshly for their role in the banking crisis that will cripple world economies for decades.

Fair enough. But that's perhaps the problem. Such diverse interests and issues may undermine it-perhaps. To protest about everything is to protest about nothing. Strangely tho these people's concerns seem to be addressed by neither party. Too far left for the Democrats even, and seemingly little short of "commies" for the Republicans. What happens when nobody represents middle America?

One of the mini-protests has lead to this :-

Protest and revolt seem to strike a chord in the hearts of many Irish people, often we ignore the side-effects.

That email is fairly mild compared to some of the stuff sent to election candidates here last February by the continuity wing of the pro-life movement.

Not sure that email does anything but detract from a fairly legit. protest. Interestingly the Republicans are taking notice. Some of them anyway. They want the "mob" moved. That's a good sign that the"mob" is getting notice, tho how you would describe pensioners and teachers as mobsters is odd to say the least. The mobsters in Wall Street invariably wear suits and vote Republican.
