Noting interest or notice of interest

Could anyone explain to me what "noting interest" or notice of interest on a property actually means I am viewing a property in a few days and have asked if there are any offers which there are not only a noting of interest.

I understand it to mean someone has expressed an interest, but not made an offer yet. If you make an offer, the estate agent will let them know so they can counter offer.
Don't read anything into it. It's one of those things estate agents can say without lying about an offer.
