No Sound from Laptop

I need some of the computer experts here to help me please, I just discovered of recent that no sound is coming out of my laptop. I used to play music or watch film with it and i ve tried all I could. Please help.

if its vista I often had problems when I allowed the updates with both the sound and usb drivers.

What make of laptop is it? What operating system are you using,vista,xp etc?

Its vista and I don't know what I did wrong or how to fix it.

The poster has already stated its Vista.

A issue for Vista is you must get regular updates as I have noticed on most of my own systems Vista needs the regular updates unlike XP or similar systems

Sorry about that,click start,control panel,device manager,double click on "sound video and game controllers" Double click on audio device,click on the driver tab,click update driver.Post what happens please.
