Hi All

Me and my gf are going to las vegas in Dec . Would like to stay there for 4 nights. Can anybody suggest any hotels there ?

Budget is around ~ €120 per night (~ $150 to 160). We will have a car but we would like to stay in the centre.

Please suggest something.

Thanks a million.

Dec is actually quite busy in Vegas so it might be hard to get a good deal.

I would recommend for a Big Name Budget hotel trying the Aladdin(now hardrock) hotel which is only about 7 or 8 years old, big rooms and nice facilities. They have a big Deser passage way shopping area with nice shops too.

Aladdin should set up back about $100 a night. If you were willing to spend $150 to $200 i would recommend staying in the Venetian which is my favourite due to its positioning and overall offering.

Las Vegas, week days are best value (actually cheap), but weekend are expensive. All the hotels are great, but how long will you actually be spending in the room, this really is the city that never sleeps !!! go budget and spend the bobs on having a good time.

Agree with previous post - massive co$$t difference between weekend and weekday.

Note that Sunday is usually considered a weekday. This may/not apply in December, depending on what time of the month you are going (e.g. if it's around New Years, then prices are sky-high, regardless of day of the week). However, there can be a good 'buzz' on Saturdays, given that it is so crowded, so maybe consider your average cost per night, and see does it come in within budget.

Better end of the Strip is the mid to south end (from Paris/Venetian/Bellagio, all the way down to the airport end near MGM Grand/NY NY/ Mandalay Bay).

The prices may be a bit more tempting on the mid-north end of the Strip (e.g. Stratosphere/ Riviera/ Circus Circus) but this is not the better end. You might also see good deals in the old dowtown area (near Binions etc.), but that area probably won't suit you the first time you go.

Have a great time - it's a fantastic place !!!

Ramlall,

You have 2 options -The Strip or Downtown. The Strip hosts a lot of the newer luxurious (i.e expensive) hotels such as The Bellagio, The Venetian but Downtown less than a mile from The Strip look no further than The Golden Nugget, a beacon amongst some of the older hotels Downtown. However for 4 days unless it is crazy money try to stay on The Strip and as previously advised midweek offers far better value than weekend.

We stayed at "The Hotel" at Mandalay Bay over Christmas a couple of years ago - really wonderful suites (first time I ever had TV in the bathroom) and your gf will love it. Decor is really modern and sophisticated if that appeals to you and their spa area is brilliant. Look up all the offers online and you will come up with a good deal - I actually rang them and got a great price over the phone, particularly as I mentioned I was considering Bellagio/Venetian. They are at the south end of the strip but the monorail runs to the Excalibur every few minutes - you just have to cross the road and take the tram up the strip from MGM Grand which runs right up to the Sahara. The Bellagio is quite grand but location is perfect - I also liked the Venetian and Aladdin. The Luxor is a popular hotel on the Strip, www.luxor.com - I just checked the price online from 6-9 December (4 nights) $489 plus tax. I know someone who stays there a few times a year and recommends it but he is really there with his mates for the casino and not the ambience.

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay - more expensive

The Venetian - all suite hotel, more expensive also

While you are there I would strongly recommend you to do the Grand Canyon trip - amazing.

Have fun!

Hotwire a 4/5* on the strip, you should get a room for around $100...don't bring car if you can avoid it, car parking is pricey.

Also check out the Vegas specials on You'll probably have to wait til closer to your dates but there are great bargains on there

If you are on a budget or want to save money for something else, you could look in to staying outside the main big name hotel strip area. After all how much time do you spend in the room ? Try Best Western and Holiday Inn etc on the outskirts, prices can vary.
