New Build - When

Hi,

Hoping to have full planning permission in a weeks time. Would I be crazy to start a new green field build in Sept ? Is it too cold and wet etc ?

the way the weather is in ireland its never too early and its never too late. You should get out of the ground before November so you should be ok

when you say "out of the ground", you mean have the raft built ?

would frosty weather not be bad for block-laying ?

its very rare to get a sustained period of frost and there is no guarantee that you are going to get it either

If you are starting early september, you should have the roof on in six weeks to two months. We started in April and surprised how fast it is to this stage and then slows right down with internal trades. We have been unable to start external plastering because of the recent 'summer' weather.
