New Bathroom Shower - Sliding Door?

In 2024 we hope to take out existing bath and replace with walk in shower.

We have a sink and toilet bowl close to the bath and opposite each other, so getting a glass panel with access to the shower from the open end would require a bit of maneuvrability.

We were thinking of getting a sliding door in the center of the glass siding for easy access.

We have one of the old corner showers in another room. About 30 years old. The sliding door in this shower has given us problems over the years with the runners becoming misaligned.

Are the more modern shower doors well made and has anyone had problems with these. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you buy a well established brand sliding door you should be able to get repacement runners/ rollers when they inevitable wear out. Or even buy the spares when you make the initial purchase.

30years is a lot of back & forth so you probably got the value out of the other doors.
