NCA takes action against 33 businesses

I think the penalties are pretty weak apart from the unwelcome publicity which i sometimes think people dont care anymore.

i think a fine and costs which come to €1200 for failing to have a shelfedge label is hardly a weak censure. bit over the top if you ask me, there are far more important problems than worrying if a supermarket is missing 5 or 6 price labels.

People nowadays do not really care about such trivial matters like this, in the same manner as the Revenue publishing the names of those who have been caught underpaying TAX. It really is time to get real. The Government needs to stop wasting public money on rubbish like this.
