NAMA is driving me nuts. Say we're stuck for 60BN (Difference between the cost of the loans and what we'll eventually get back). OK fine..add it on to the national debt and pay it back over 10 years. Job done.
The bigger issue IMO is the cost of running this country i.e. public sector wage bill. We're borrowing 400m a week to fund this - that's 20BN a year. None of the political parties are adressing this as it means cutting salaries/jobs etc and is too politically sensitive. Instead they're focusing on NAMA whilst ignoring the elephant in the corner.
