my partner bought a site for 62,500 euro off his uncle, it is valued at 90,000 euro. the land before we bought the site was in my partners uncles name john and johns wife mary. our solicitor has said we must pay stamp duty of 5,500 euro, is this correct? yes asked this question already but enquiring does the matter change when the site was in his uncles and his wifes name before my partner bought it and its value has gone up to 90,000?
