Moving away in August is becoming more likely for me as my partner is going to lose his job and its looking like my job isnt that safe either.

We have discussed it and there is a lot of work for him abroad so we are gonna go away for 18 to 24 months to get work so we can still pay our bills and mortgage etc over here.

What way should I approach my credit cards providers?

I have two existing ones, €1300 with UB, €3K with MBNA and €4K with Halifax.

Any advice much appreciated. Could probably pay UB and MBNA before I leave.

Thanks.

You say you've two, yet name three ?

Whichever one has the highest APR should be the first to be cleared, then cut up the card. In fact, cut up all of them.

MBNA is the highest one, then UB then Halifax. Well two are active accounts. Halifax is not as they pulled out of Ireland.

if you have the money then clear the lot of them as you are paying high interest possibly on these?.. and as blackberry says also stamp duty on each. Have you any savings?
