Moving Alarm Panic Button

Hi,

I need to move the Panic button thats on my bedroom wall in order to fit a head board. I just need to move it about a foot lower but I am hesitant to touch it as I don't want to mess up the alarm system.

I've tried contacting the guy that fit but he is not returning my calls.

Does anybody know is it safe enough to unscrew it from the wall and screw it in lower down or will that set off some tampering alarm?

The alarm is standard enough Aritech kit.

Thanks,
Finn

I dont think it will set off a tamper switch, if I remember correctly there is a tamper spring on the control panel. Just unscrewing it with removing the wires probably shouldn't cause a problem

Most of these will have the mouting screws inside the switche body, and so you may have no choice but to trigger the tamper switch to move it. If that happens, just enter your code on the panel to silence the alarm. Then just reposition as required.

If you don't want to trigger the alarm, you could tempoarily disable the zone in question via the engineers menu while you are carrying out the move, if you have the engineers code that is.
