moved to uk but cannot get connected to internet any ideas

Hi
I have moved to the UK and brought my laptop with me. I could connect to broadband wirless connection in Ireland but cant seem to connect here. I contacted the provider who are sky and did all the troubleshooting with them but no luck. I tried changing IP address but it would not accept it. Any other ideas of what the problem could be
 
have you turned off your wireless by mistake,theres usually a light on the laptop to let you know.
 
Where does it fail?
Are you on a Mac or PC
Can you the laptop see or connect to a wirless network?
What point does it fail at if it can see but can't connect.
If it does connect does it just not dis play web pages
Is it possible to test with a wired connection?
 
I am on a dell pc and I have tried also with a wire connection. It is not connecting at all
