Mountfield Ride on Mower

Can anyone give me some advise, we have been offered a Mountfield Ride on Mower 1228H, it is from a dealer who says it is about 5-6 years old and he wants £899.99 for it. To be fair it is in very good condition and he says he will do a full service on it and give us 3 months warranty, it has a 11.5hp engine and is hydrostatic.This is our first ride on mower and we have approx 1/4 acre to mow. What I need to know is, is this a good price for a mower of this age as a new one would cost us £1,599 but has a 12.5hp engine and 5 year warranty.
Any advise appreciated.
 
I'd go for the new one aswell, especially with a 5 year warranty.
But do you really need a ride on for only 1/4 acre?
 
I suppose we don`t really need one but my hubby has always fancied one and to be fair it does take ages with the petrol mower we have at the moment, I think you are both probably right for the extra money we may as well have the new one and get the extra peace of mind with the 5 year warranty.
