Mortgage clearance query

Am going to clear the mortgage when the SSIA arrives next week - I received some documentation today from the Building Society pointing out that there will be a 35 euro release charge to have the deeds of the house released from them to me.. Is this correct?

The lender will have to organise vacates, schedule title deeds etc. It is common for a charge to be applied.

Don't forget that there may be a penalty clause for early repayment if you currently have a fixed interest rate. Its worth checking this with your lender or if you still have your original offer pack you will find this on the terms and conditions.
