Mortgage after probation period

I have recently started a new job, which has a 4 month probation period. We already have a mortgage approval, but the house purhcase is taking longer than expected, so we will have to re-apply after my probation period has passed.

Does anyone know if the banks are ok to approve mortgages after passing the probation period of 4 months or do they have new guidelines in place where you have to be permanently emplyed for a X number of years?

We're a single income family, with 40% of the purchase price saved up.

Hi,

In my experience the banks generally look for you to be in your job 6 months - 1 year and don't go off the company's own probationary period terms.

That said, I'm sure if you were high in their credit worthiness score (low risk, LTV etc.) that they'd probably forsake some time in order to get the business.
