McGill Summer School, what is the point?

I suppose the purpose of it is to exchange ideas at workshops and seminars. It seems to have a political and economic theme. There are other summer schools that take place around the country, such as the Parnell summer school, which from memory focuses on history and academia and the yeats summer school, which is about culture and writing. McGill seems to be getting a fair bit of coverage this year - must be a slow news week

Its just a lovey dovey session for people who think they are the opinion formers in Irish society such as Emily O Reilly and co,

When the Revolution comes they will be on the list to be put up against the wall after Turbridy, Charlie Bird, some members of the Cork hurling team the ex Chief Executive of the National Lottery who has convicned people that buyinh a lottery ticket is a "game" and not gambling

Eclectic list of revolutionary victims !

I'm with you though !

Why not some of the Kilkenny hurlers as well ? ( purely from a biased point of view ):)

End Kilkenny's capitalist monopoly of silverware now !

It's about people sharing their opinions and perhaps trying to stimulate some thinking as to the future of Ireland

A bit like AAM in some respects !!

A forum whereby middle-aged and retired people get to explain to a room full of comfortably middle class retired people what the mistakes of the past were and what the youth of today should do to fix them. Preferably starting tomorrow when the retired won't have to worry about their responsibilities for causing the mess in the first place or worry about the cuts and the inevitable tax increases to follow.
