Maximum amount of cash you can carry thru airport?

Firslty, this is the most relevant section of the forum I could find for this query - albeit that if the mods want to switch - by all means do.


The question is this. What is the maximum amount of hard cash a person can walk through airport customs with - when travelling to another EU state?

I think it is €10000 in monetary instruments, I'll see if I can find the link

I think there is no limit to the amount you can carry, but you must declare it both to Customs in Ireland (if it above €10,000) and at the arrival destanation if it is over the local limit.
