I have ceased a company at the beginning of this year due to no
trading (no sales, no expenses, no assets). I have sent forms TRCN1
(to cancel my tax reg number) and form RBN3 (cessation of business
name).I have resented VAT3 forms with zero on it. I thought everything is
sorted but now I have received form B1, what if I have nothing to return?
What else I need to do to make sure the company is closed?

you need to have the company struck off in the Companies Registration Office, until then the company will stlil have to file returns with the CRO.

you could do the strikeoff yourself, following details on the link above, much easier option though is to get a specialist co to do it for you, there are lots of good deals about at the moment just google coany strike off services, one i've used is. mystrikeoff.ie i am an accountant & the firm i work in use specialist companies for this all the time.

A Registered Business Name and a Limited Company are totally different.

You say you in your original post its a Limited Company cessation, but then make reference to the cessation of a business name. These are different and are not related.

As Moral Ethos has said, you need to follow the guidelines as outlined in the CRO's Voluntary Strike Off process.

ok thanks, I may ask mystrikeoff.ie to do the advertisement for me I think it will be cheaper and the rest I can do myself.

Martaa If I were you I would let mystrikeoff do the lot. You do not know what you are doing. Mistakes or delays could lead to you having to audit your accounts, etc.. BTW if you are already late with your Annual returns you will need your accounts prepared and audited.
