Locating Solar Panels, oil boiler, water tanks etc. in garage

Evening all!
I've read through a number of threads in relation to locating all main plumbing equipment, tanks etc. away from the main house and in the garage (15m away).
A lot of the threads are dated from 2010 and I'm wondering what people's opinions are in 2012. Have things changed? Good or bad idea?

Nothing wrong with installing in garage as long as a few precautions are taken, namely using zero loss pipework (Qualpex Ecopipe or similar) and not some qualpex stuck in wavin pipe injected with expandable foam. Also increase the pump head size.
I would also not locate the domestic hot water cylinder in the garage but keep this in the main house.
