hi,
a buddy of mine has been out of fulltime work for a while and his missus isn't working either. he recently changed to airtricity and owes bord gais some money which he is trying to pay off bit by bit. they sent a letter this week saying they will get their solicitors involved so he's wondering what his options are?? has anyone else been in this situation and if so what did you do?? i told him to get onto them and explain the situation and set up a direct debit for whatever he can afford, do they have to accept this???
he was asking me too about getting a loan off the credit union in the future to fix his car but i'm wondering will his credit rating be affected by this??
any advice will be greatly appreciated by him i know.

Your friend could get in touch with MABS. They should be able to advise him on best course of action.
