Less than 20 hours per week-work: can it effect your PRSI benefits in to the future?

My good wife is presently working 21 hours per week. She would like to reduce her working hours to 16 hours per week. Someone has told her that if you work less than 20 hours per week it can effect your PRSI benefits in to the future. Does anyone know if 20 hours is some sort of cut off point?

no. It won't affect her benefits at all. She should ring her social welfare office with her RSI number, to ensure the company she works for are paying PRSI for her and then it doesn't matter if she works 16 or 21 hours. HTH
