My family took above policy out with Laya ( then Quinn) last year. Whilst not giving health cover, it protects the waiting periods, so that you can return to a health care policy with only a 3 month waiting period. Ideal for us as two of us have long term health problems.
I was about to renew the policy as we still cannot afford the 2000+ required for annual cover, when the Representative slipped in "by the way, you know that your waiting periods will be 2 years for any upgrade". When I asked him to clarify, he explained that returning to healthcare to the same policy I had before, would be an upgrade.
Unless I have misunderstood, Health Protect appears to be a policy that protects your waiting periods for one year, but after that the protection is minimal (2 years rather than 5 years).
It is definitely not marketed in this way, and I feel have been deceived.
Does anybody know if my interpretation is correct, and any suggestions for my alternatives?
Thanks
