VHI Lapsed policy by 3 weeks

My brother is in icu and very ill. When his wife checked their vhi policy which has been in place for many years it lapsed on 15 Aug. If she renews it will he have to go on waiting periods etc...

No, he won't have to go on waiting periods, once a person renews within 13 weeks after renewal, a policy can be lapsed upto 13 weeks without having to re-serve waiting times again. So, thats one less thing to worry about in the circumstances. Hope he improves soon.
