Joint owner is property to sole owner

My wife and I are joint owners of a owner occupied property. We were both involved in securing the mortgage on both our wages.

My wifes wages have reduced dramatically since recession so I am paying the mortgage 100% from my wages.

Would it be possible to change the ownership of the property to either one of us instead of joint.?
 
I am concerned that I won't be able to keep up repayments so in that case would it be be worthwhile one of us being the owner and if we went bankrupt only one of us would be affected.
