Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can help with regard irish mortgages for foreign property ? Is it possible or not ?
My girlfreind is looking to buy an apartment in Italy where she is from and wants to let it out. She is working and living full time in Ireland. Any ideas ?

Thanks, J

ONe lender can give loans on Spanish property, and a couple of the lenders can finance UK properties.

Unfortunately none of the Irish lenders do the Italian market.

Best advice would be for her to arrange finance through an Italian bank

Thanks Bbok,

Will check it out. I can't understand it, european free market !!

Different property laws still apply in member countries and it wouldn't make economic sense for lenders to arrange a handful of mortgages in another country.....
