Hi all,

I am in full time employment & also have a full medical card for myself & family. I recently found out that i should be exempt from the income levy from my wages each week because i have the medical card. I also claim FIS. If i was to claim back the income levy would my FIS be effected? Or should i just leave things the way they are?

Thanks in advance.

Once you qualify for a full medical card you can re-claim both the Income Levy (from Revenue) and the Health Levy (from PRSI Refunds Section, Department of Social and Family Affairs, Oisín House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2)
Both of the application forms will have the eligibility criteria set out and if you meet the criteria then you may claim the refund.

Your FIS wouldn't be affected until the review date. Once you are granted FIS the figure doesn't change until your next review.
