Importing 2nd Hand A6

Am thinking of buying a 03/04 Audi A6 estate from the UK. Am I better to wait until the 1st of July or go for it now....
I'm a bit confused over the new VRT rates and Car Tax rates and am thinking of the 1.9 TDI because of tax vrt etc or would the 2.5 tdi be an option ???

Really depends on what you are prepared to pay for road tax and VRT.
I think the best way is to ask the seller what the CO2 emissions are as stated on the V5 document, and then using this info, you can lookup the new VRT and Road Tax bands to determine what your VRT and road tax will be if you import after July.

say if you were buying an AUDI A6 Avant (Standard, SE & Sport) 1.9 TDI (130 PS) AV. it seems that emissions per km for this is 162 gr and it falls in new category D which has 24 per cent VRT after July. At the moment the arte is 25 %.
Your motor tax will change as well, currently it is €560 a year
