I heard of a design fault with ignition coils in some VW engines (1.8 petrol), found in Skoda Octavia, Audi A4, VW Passat etc. I believe they were due to a problem with a suppier, and they were previously replaced free by VW dealers.
Anyone know the current position re these, I am thinking of getting an 03 Skoda with this engine?
