Hi guys,

A friend of mine is going to look for a mortgage in the near future.

As it happens he has o/s loans with aib, boi & ptsb.

If he approaches the cu with the intention of clearing these loans with 1 large cu loan will this cu loan show up on the ICB radar?

If his CU cooperates with the ICB then it will. Some CUs do so and the plan is for more or all to follow.

ICB current [broken link removed] includes several Credit Unions.

BTW ICB reports can now, at last, be processed and paid for on-line, link .

If the loans show up on the ICB as being cleared the lender may well ask for proof of where the funds came from to repay them. They ain't daft!

If they ask I guess they can say they were gifted the money Sarah.

Sounds a bit better than saying they won it on the horses!

When they run an ICB will it show on the loans that they can see from the report the source, i.e. the CU in this case, of the funds that redeemed the loans now o/s?

Thanks
