My Pc is recently infected with a virus. I keep getting pop ups from an antivirus software alert saying a trojan internet virus has infected the pc.

I have AVG and Spybot on my PC but they will not open. I then downloaded Superantispyware and that wont open either once i download it.

Windows security centre pops up every so often saying my firewall is turned off, so i turn it on. It also says my current antivirus software out of date and then recommends i update it or buy 'antivirus live'.

I am also getting porn sites opening up on a seperate Internet explorer page which i dont use, this happens when I am using Mozilla.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can remove the virus?

Thanks

The virus is killing the AVG processes et al in memory.

Try downloading MALWAREBYTES but rename the EXE before you run it.
Its normal name is MBAM.EXE.

+1 for MalwareBytes. Both my desktop and laptop got infected over the weekend. It blocked access to AVG and TaskManager. Popped up "AntiVirus Live" bubble and all that rubbish.

Downloaded MalwareByres and it blitzed it fairly quick.

Just read the steps in the link above and they cover it all

Yep, I got zapped too with the 'Antivirus Live' rogue application a few days ago. A real pain, couldn't do anything at all after a while without all these fake pop-ups appearing for 'AntiVirus Live' purchase.

I shut down the computer then opened again in safe mode with networking (hit F8 immediately after pressing power button). I ran clean-up programs mentioned above and all appears OK now.

An example of a detailed fix can be seen in the link below (but will depend on your system and browser default) and it also shows what the 'Antivirus Live' screen image looks like...

Had the same issue a couple of months back, Malwarebytes sorted it out for me.

Got it sorted, managed to run Malwarebytes and it sussed out most of the problems. thanks for the replies

1. First you must download rkill.exe - MAKE sure you download from this site linked below as there are other fake sites out there. I had to deal with this Bas**ard on 2 PC's and a brand new netbook over Xmas (Santa brought it. It had no antivirus/spyware etc. and the recipient was up before me and surfed the 'net for about half an hour - damage done within this short space of time). RKILL is downloadable from the following link.

This stops the virus/trojan while your PC is running - only then can you progress onto ............

2. Download MALWAREBYTES - preferably from another PC and run it from a memory stick. To be sure I downloaded ADAWARE and ran this too. This should do the trick.
