How to go about locating Tax expert versed in US & IE laws

Greetings everyone,

my question is this:

I need to locate a tax accountant in Ireland who is very knowledgeable about taxation and filing (personal for an individual) annual taxes both in the US and in Ireland.

However, I seem unable to come up with anything in google searches other than big companies that handle big corporations, C-level executives and big business taxation issues.

I simply don't know where to go to find this service for an individual, or what terms to use when searching for them. I have also asked for personal recommendations from friends, without success.

How do I now proceed? Or am I better off finding someone in the US?

Thank you,
Z

Perhaps contact the Irish Taxation Institute , they have a list of members all of whom would be specialist in tax.
I can recommend a firm of tax consultants in Dublin who I use regularly. www.alanmoore.ie ( no connection just an accountant who is satisfied with their services )

Zilch. Can you not simply file 2555-EZ ? There is a tax treaty between the US and Ireland - and unless you are making more than the exemption amount (I think its 150K for a married couple at least)... unless of course you are not living in Ireland full-time.

Go to the Web site of the American Embassy in Dublin and click on the IRS tax info site on the home page you will find all that is required and Questions answered.
I find it very helpful.
Happy Taxing.

Is [broken link removed]the link you are referring to?

It is a useful link but not a link to independent tax advisors?

Yes Brendan but it covers most details regarding filing your returns.
Zilch may find what he is looking for regarding any Questions he has.
The site covers most details required to file and how to go about it.
Most of the forms are straight forward and he may be able to file himself.
Also if he contacted the Embassy they may be able to recommend somebody to him.
