How long before I can apply for a mortgage?

Finally moving back to Irelan from the U.K(10 years away) next month, I have a good jobs offer with a six month probation period.
How long should I wait before applying for a mortgage?
 
Nothing to stop you applying as soon as you are here and have started work - you won't be able to drawdown until the probation period has expired but that may not be an issue if you are buying a new house or it suits a vendor to have a delayed completion. Make sure you have your previous employment details (payslips, P60/45) and 6 months bank statements available as lenders will want to see consisent income.
