My house is up for acution. It is the second week of the campaign. There have been a reaonable amount of viewings. The house is now in really good order. However, no one has asked for contracts or, even more, asked to have the house surveyed. Is this normal? I am a bit concerned. I was thinking of just taking the house off the market. If I do let it go to auction next week and there are no interested parties, then I will have wasted another E5k for my solicitor to come up to attend the auction. The house has no mortgage on it. It has been rented, and I am desperately fed up with being a landlady and with maintaining a period house. However, I could afford to keep the house, and rent it out for a two/three years. and wait for the market to pick up a little. Any advice/info appreciated.

Its not unheard of for no1 to ask for contracts. Most ppl show up on the day and get them there, it is slightly worrying though

also 5k for your solicitor to show up is very very steep!!!
