Holiday to Barbados and changing money???

I am going on a holiday to Barbados the last week in April and wondering about changing my money. I have read that the currency in Barbados is the Barbadian dollar and was just wondering does anybody know can I change it here in Ireland before I go or should I wait until I get there?

You can spend US$ in Barbados, 2 Barbados $ to 1 US$.
Was there in May and everywhere accepted US dollars.
 
agree with mucker man.. i was there in august and everywhere accepted u.s Dollars. Enjoy!!!
 
Bring € and chnage it in the bank in Barbados, to Barbados $'s

You'll get a much better rate than buying US$ in Ireland

Banks tend to offer close to the inter bank rate for foreign currency in Barbados
 
Cool guys thanks a million. Might change a bit to US dollars and keep the rest in Euro and change it so when I get over there. What did you guys think of Barbados? Is it expensive? Was a complete impulse booking, haven't got a clue what to expect over there...

omg you will love it. i went to the south coast and stayed in the turtle beach resort. amazing... weather is amazing too. loads to do like watersports. enjoy it. very jealous
