Yesterday morning and this morning i am seeing what looks like mouse dropping around my fireplace and under coffee table. Brown hard about 4 mm with a point on one side

Cant see where he may be holed up unless the recliner, no signs of chewing etc and no signs in food cupboards

The fire is never used. What is the best trap cleanest - YUCK!

Yep, sounds like a mouse alright. Recommend the traps that are fully enclosed if you don't want to look at it. Bait the trap with cooked sausage or bolognese. Cheese is a waste of time. Good luck. Slim
 
Remember mice are rarely alone. Chances are you have a few. Kill them all. They are pests.
 
I found this googling mice etc. It is advertised on RTE too I think and running on tv in supermarkets

I have a trap set and am hiding out upstairs tonight!
