Hamburg - Reeperbahn.

Guys,

We are organising a stag for about 18 of us to head to Hamburg in August for 2 nights. We are planning to stay around the Reeperbahn area. As there probably wont be alot of sleep we are looking for a reasonable/cheap hotel that provides the basic needs.

Has anybody any recommendations from recent experience of a hotel that they may have stayed in previously.

I was in Hamburg recently and the Reeperbahn did look really seedy, if not actually dangerous. There is an Ibis hotel in St Pauli beside the Reeperbahn that looked OK. I didn’t stay there (I was in H’burg for the opera) but I’ve stayed in Ibis hotels elsewhere and they are usually dependable and of a good standard. Note that H’burg is fairly compact so you could stay basically anywhere close to the Reeperbahn on the S1 or S3 metro lines and get there in a few mins.
