Mature student - public sector non IT background.

It's 2 years part time.

Any experience / advice would be appreciated.
Hope it's manageable.

It’s very technical and very demanding if you don’t have an IT background. It’s not the type of programme where you can wing anything.

Your best approach is to put in a lot of work at the beginning and stay on top of it from day one. If you let it slide at all, you’ll never catch up.

Get yourself a mentor if you start to struggle. With a non-IT background, it may be very difficult.

For data analytics I suspect that most or all coding will probably be done using Python. If that's what the syllabus says then maybe start learning a bit about that in advance of the course starting. There are plenty of good tutorials online/YouTube. And lots of bad ones of course.

If you're not from an IT background, but are comfortable enough with maths/statistics/logic you should be ok.
As others have said, do some background reading on some of the syllabus content to get an idea of what to expect.

Python and R are really interesting to learn but they could justify a course on their own. AFAIK, the course also involves statistics which is also very challenging in its own way.

Sounds like a great diploma course if you have the time to commit.
