Granite paving slabs - which side up?

We got some granite paving slabs down on Friday.

We've noticed the granite slabs have the rough side up. NOt sure if the polished flat side of the slab should be facing up.

Does this matter? Is it wrong to have the rougher side up?

The landscaper is from a reputable company, and ive seen and trust their work. Just surprised and questioning which is right.

Any advice?

Rough side up. Otherwise you have a skating rink in the wet.
