Good location outside of Dublin, to buy?

Hi, i am looking to buy a detached house, within commutable distance from Dublin. The property location would have to have good public transport access to Dublin, within a short distance. I was considering Sallins in Kildare. Would anyone have some feedback on the area? Or know of other suitable locations?
