glass cover to protect table

hi,
I'm just enquiring about a glass cover to protect a wooden circular table, 72 inch diameter. Trouble is that the tables surface is slightly lower at the perimeter, I guess over time the table warped slightly.
Does anyone know if it will be possible to get a glass top to suit.
I've heard that it can be done by using spacers at the perimeter but have my doubts.
Any info appreciated.

I'm living in Cork

That's a messy job...

A few years back, my wife got some bevelled glass plate cut to fit an old ('family heirloom/sentimental value'-type) table — probably at higher cost than the objective value of the table in question ;) — and then we subsequently realised the surface of the table wasn't 100% 'true'. So we've had to use spacers, too, just to stop the (v. heavy) lump of glass gliding off, every time someone bumps against the table... nightmare! The spacers look poxy, and completely undo the aesthetic effect of the glass top.

Have a cold, hard look at it, and decide how much the 'transformation' is worth to you...
