Getting $1 Dollar bill notes in a bank?

Hi, I'm going to the Dominican Republic and I want to bring $1 dollar bills as these will be useful in the resort for tipping. I can't seem to find a bank here in my locality that can issue me with $1 dollar USD bills - they can give $20 bills but I won't be able to just change these locally to get smaller bills since in a shop for example they wouldn't use USD there (the DR currency is peso but the resort staff generally want USD tips)
My q is does anyone know if a bank here can give me $1 Dollar bills?

You might get em from an high street exchange bureau more readily as they probably have people coming in getting rid of them after holidays, but are less likely to bank them as quickly as the normal banks.
