Fundraising ideas or sponsorship?

I am going over to an orphanage in Eastern Europe to work during the summer. I am just wondering what the best fundraising activities are? I do not want to target the same people for 3 or 4 events, but am interested in holding a cake sale/table quiz/raffle.

I am thinking of contacting some local and national companies for donations of some sort, if even for a spot prize or raffle. I realise there is a lot of strain on everyone financially, so it is a bad idea? Can't help to ask I suppose.

So yeah, best ideas for fundraising?

karaoke night / speed dating event / leg waxing event? Somethin that would draw in a good crowd, that way you would probably get the venue for free. You will need participants to volunteer though...have you many 'good' friends lol

A bit late but clothes collections can be quite lucrative if you get a drive going with friends, family and work colleagues. You can get up to €8 per bag, and it doesn't cost anyone anything. I'd do some research when choosing a company. Some are more legitimate than others.
