Hi

I'm completing my 2011 Form11e (because I have rental income)

And there's a question I'm struggling with:

525. Medical Insurance Premiums - Paid by your employer

a. Gross premium
b. Amount of age -related tax credit in respect of this premium
c. Amount of any contribution made by you

The VHI is about 2000 and in my payslip I can see 90 BIK
The VHI covers the family 2 adults 2 children

Does this mean it's already treated in my PAYE and I can ignore?

If I put 2000 in (a) will I get my deserved tax credit ?
What should I put in (c) assuming I am paying something towards the VHI for wife and 2 kids

Mostly I don't want to put in the wrong thing and for the final balance to create a tax bill. Will (a) increase my credits? Will neither figure cause my tax to increase?
Thanks

Tax relief is at source on vhi. However if you work for a company and they pay it for you then you should get charged bik on it and get a tax credit for a portion of it. If it is been done correctly then this should be in your annual tax credits. Make sure you claim for the extra credits in your tax return. Does this help?
