HI all,

trying to get the best deal possible to go to Thailand - koh samui - next april. We went with twohigs travel last year but the prices have gone up alot since november of last year...by as much as €600-€700, so we were thinking of booking the flights and accomidation seperatly. Has anyone done this before for a tww week holiday and can anyone recommend where to book flights and transfers ect?

Thanks a mill

Sarah

Last New Year, the best fare we got to Bangkok was with Air France. Flights from there to Samui are with Bangkok Airlines, there's over a dozen flights a day.

hey..air china usually have very good fares with the flight down to koh samui included. try trailfinders for prices...
what standard hotel are you looking for?

Sarah,
We have found that to get the best deal you should book your flights from London. Booking well in advance should secure you a cheap Ryanair flight to get you to the UK. Try momondo.com to see what's on offer from London to Bangkok and as Jock04 says, there are many flights from Bangkok to Koh Samui. It seems a bit messy with so many stops but if you are looking for the best deal possible then it's the way to go.
We book the flights and accommodation online and it has always gone smoothly.
By they way, if you haven't decided on a resort yet, I would recommend Bophut (much less commercialised than Chaweng)

having seen Chaweng first hand, I wouldn't stay there for a freebie! Bophut is much nicer, as is Choeng Mon.

We flew Air France Dub-Paris- BKK, BKK - Samui with Bangkok Airlines 3 days later. On the way home, the check-in at the simply fabulous Samui airport checked our bags in straight through to Dublin. That saved a lot of worry about a fairly tight connection time in paris, which actually went without a hitch.

Don't know where in the country you are Sarah, but there's also a Shannon-Paris flight with Air France now. Takes a lot of hassle out, if you live anywhere near it.

Agree about Chaweng. And Lamai.
