First Car Insurance.

Hi Folks,
My son is looking at getting his first insurance in his own name.
He is 18 with a full licence on "N" plates.
What companies insure and what would he expect to pay for a small car 1.0 to 1.2.

is he/was he a named driver on your own policy? If so, he might get a discount from that insurer. Some insurers give an introductory NCB for the no of years the person has been named on the policy.

Is the car in your name our your kid 's name ?

There would be a fair difference in risk between an 18 yo boy and a 23 yo girl (even if they are not supposed quote by gender,I remain sceptical!)
