According to the Sunday Business Post today:
- Finance Ireland are to enter the Irish mortgage market.
- Launch will not be till late 2017 or early 2018.
- Targeting prime mortgage market.
- Finance Ireland want a 10% share of the market.
- Finance Ireland will allow direct applications online and broker applications.
- Backed by the Pimco Bravo Fund and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund.

No mention of rates which is disappointing.

We don't need another lender charging the same rates. We need a new lender who is prepared to charge rates closer to the European norm.

True but if Finance Ireland really want 10% of the market they will need to offer highly competitive rates.
 
Good point.

Though they are describing brokers as unloved. So they might grab market share by bribing brokers with high commission.

Hard to see same rates as Europe when it's practically impossible to evict defaulting mortgages. Even so, more competition means we should get closer.
