Can anyone tell me why phenolic (high density) external insulation may no longer be used if you wish to qualify for the SEAI insulation grant?

there has been a few issues with the board recently, the nsai took it off there
certs.the issues have now been resolved by kingspan.but its up to system manufacturers to resubmit there certs with the inclusion of phenolic for recertification.
from what i hear the nsai have given a certain impact resistance which the system manufacturers are not happy with.

What is the difference between aeroboard external insulation which is 120mm thick and mineral fibre insulation which is 110mm? Are they both equally good?

pheonlic insulation, like polyurethane and polyisocyranuate, will break down if it gets wet. This, i am lead to believe, was the issue. Polystyrene, extruded or expanded, does not crumble or loose integrity if it gets wet.
