Eternity ring -how much to spend?

I know people say spend 2 times a months salary on an engagement ring,but what is the norm to spend on an eternity ring??missus just have birth to our first child last week....
 
Get the best ring you can afford and don't be bothering with what 'people say'.

I bought my wife an eternity ring that complemented her engagement ring. From memory, it was less than one month's salary.
 
Congrats on the birth, exciting time :)

I would make a fuss of giving her your own handwritten/typed voucher along the lines of an IOU and let her choose her own eternity ring. Its best to let her match it herself to her engagement ring and she will be the best judge of how much she wants to spend on it. I also wouldn't go along with what the 'norm' is. Its what suits both of you that matters.

You should get some advice from the engagement ring thread on where you can get some good cash discounts.
